Information you do not provide here
Learn Basic Skills currently has no user accounts, newsletter form, comments, advertising, payment processing, or contact form. The site does not ask you to submit personal profile information.
Theme preference
If you choose light or dark mode, the site stores that choice in your browser's local storage under the key lbs-theme. This value stays on your device and is used only to restore the selected appearance. You can remove it through your browser's site-data controls.
Local search
Site search downloads a small static index after you open or use search. Matching happens in your browser. Search phrases are not sent to a separate search provider by this website.
Playground code and saved drafts
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript entered in the playground run inside the visitor's browser. The playground does not send that code to a Learn Basic Skills application server for storage or execution.
The playground may save the latest draft in browser local storage under the versioned keylbs-playground:v1. A saved draft can include the three code files, selected editor tab, mobile layout choice, auto-run preference, last-modified time, and starter-example ID. It does not ask for or intentionally store personal information. Clearing this site's browser data removes the locally saved draft.
A playground share link contains compressed code in the URL hash. That hash is handled in the browser rather than sent as part of an ordinary page request, but anyone who receives the complete link can read and copy the code it contains. Shared code is loaded with auto-run disabled and must be run deliberately after review.
Cloudflare hosting
The site is designed to be delivered through Cloudflare Workers Static Assets. Cloudflare may process ordinary request information needed to deliver and secure web traffic, such as IP address, requested URL, device or browser information, and request timing. Cloudflare's own handling is governed by its published policies.
Cloudflare Web Analytics and RUM
Learn Basic Skills uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate site-usage measurement and real user monitoring (RUM). The purpose is to understand which content is useful and how reliably and quickly pages work on real devices and connections. Learn Basic Skills uses this information only to improve content, accessibility, reliability, and performance—not for advertising or cross-site profiling.
Cloudflare may automatically inject its RUM JavaScript beacon as an HTML response passes through Cloudflare's edge. The site does not manually include that beacon in its Astro source. Measurements may include the page or landing URL, referrer, resource timing, page and navigation timing, paint timing, and Core Web Vitals such as LCP, INP, and CLS.
Cloudflare states that the RUM beacon does not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or browser fingerprinting. Cloudflare receives the source IP address during normal HTTP request handling, but states that it discards the address at the nearest Cloudflare data center instead of retaining it in core RUM databases or logs. See Cloudflare's RUM beacon documentation for its current description of collection and processing.
The current Cloudflare setting is Enable, excluding visitor data in the EU. The current setting excludes European traffic covered by Cloudflare's RUM exclusion configuration; Cloudflare says its beacon does not process measurements for connections routed through the data centers covered by that exclusion.
Cookies, functional storage, and changes
The site currently uses no non-essential cookies. Functional browser local storage is used for the theme and playground features described above. The current site therefore does not display a cookie banner. This describes the current technical configuration; the owner should review this notice and the consent approach whenever data-handling features or settings change.
